I posted this in the paint section but have not received any responses, thought I would try it here.
I am restoring a red 68 GT Fastback that does not currently have the C-Stripe from the last repaint. I plan to strip the paint and repaint it red (the original color). I have the Marti report which states it had a black C-stripe which I plan to reinstall (it's also on the body buck tag). After looking in parts suppliers catalogs I notice there is a reflective and non reflective stripe. How do I know which one is correct for my car???
Thanks, Gene

Hi MY68GT,
i am no expert but, to my limited knowledge, i do not think they were reflect at that time. maybe not until 69-70 when the mach 1 had reflective mach stripes. the reflective ones offered may just be an item offered now. i would call a few parts houses and find someone who knows there stuff. or send a fax or letter to this sites guros of mustangage. maybe they have people that can reply.
p.s i would like to see your car if you have pic capablity. i have a 68 coupe sunlitgold 289 3 spd ...mostly stock....sunlitegoldpony@verizon.net

Gene,
For those that don't know; C-stripes were decals, not painted on.
Phoenix Graphics makes both reflective and non-reflective, http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/ford/sk103.htm
I prefer the reflective stripes because they look so much cooler at night. They really draw attention. I believe either is correct. Jon

The reflective C stripe came with the Reflective Group that included reflective paint on the GT wheels in 1968.
