FMX vs C6

Researching early 70's Machs, since I just bought a '71. My research has shown the C6 was standard with the big-blocks (351C and up) and the FMX was
an option (mine has the FMX). What makes one better than the other?

A C6 is heavier but will last for just about forever. I’ve seen many 71 and later Mach Is with 351/FMX combos. I think just the Boss 351 and the 429 Machs had the C6.
