CR says that the reliability of the V6 engine is poor in the readers' survey that they do for their annual cars issue. I've had my V6 since Aug. 2005 and have yet to experience problems. The car drives like a dream.

My bet is that since the majority of '05-'06 Stangs out there are V6's, some of the owners try to drive it like a GT, and who knows how dilligent they are with servicing the cars. I take my Mustang to service every 3000 miles (I intend to keep her til the day I die!).

Anyone having problems with their V6, cause I sure ain't!

Screw Consumer Reports.  If it isn't some Euro-trash or Rice-bred tin can they will run it into the ground.  Same with Car&Driver or Motor Trend.

38,000 on this 2007 v-6 and no problems at all. It runs strong! Consumer reports and Car& Driver never have given the Ford Mustang a fair shake anyway. They are jealous mags toward rice burners.

Ford Mustang Research
Ford Mustang When looking for your next vehicle, think about the Ford Mustang, a stylish car with nice features. The Mustang gets 16 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway, and has drivers side crash test ratings of 5 stars and passengers side crash test ratings of 5 stars. You also might want to research the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln MKS.
