I have a 1966 with a 6-clyinder and a 3-speed cruise-o-matic, it has the stock axles and differential with the stock 4-lug axles.  I also have a rolled 1985 GT (parts car) with the 5.0 4V engine, and a 5-speed.  I was wondering, since I am not yet much of a mechanic (I'm 16)how I would go about, or even if it is economically feasible, swapping in the 5.0's engine, transmission, and axles so that I could put on 5-lug rims and a set of nice brakes.

The 5.0L engine will fit in without much issue. The 5 speed will take some "massaging" of the transmission tunnel. There are also some specific parts you'll need to put that tranny in. This article will tell you what you need for the tranny swap.

As far as the axle, It's not a stright bolt-in. Some modifications of the axle will need to be done. Although not impossible, you'll want to have someone with knowledge an experience to help you out.
