I have a 66 fastback that I am going to paint and have the rust removed. There isn't a lot of rust.  I would like to know what the costs are. I have estimate to paint and remove the rust. The person said they would dismantle the car and remove the rust and pain each part and then put the car together. The price was 10K.

Thanks,

Michael

If they're painting the whole car that doesn't sound too bad a bad price. There are too many factors involved though, to say its a great price or a ripoff. Most of the cost is obviously in labor to remove the paint and rust. And then prep of the body work for painting.

If you're able to do the teardown and paint/rust removal yourself, that will save some of the cost.
