I just bought an old 67 coupe. It has no radio, and the bezel is cracked. I want to install something thumpin' What components did you install and where is a good place to get them? Thanks.

The first question is do you want to keep the stock look to the dash and interior? if you do, you're limited by what you can do. If stock is your answer, then Custom Autosound is the company you need to check out.
If you're not looking for stock, then you put amps in the trunk, speakers in the package tray in the back window, and speakers in the kick panels.
Your dash may need to be modified to fit the head unit depending on your choice.
One thing to keep in mind is that you may need to upgrade the alternator to a higher output model depending on what you have already. I don't remember how much voltage the stock ones put out. I think its about 65 amps. You may need to go with a 90 amp or higher.
I know that doesn't give you specifics, but hopefully it gets headed in the direction you want to go.

Thanks for the tips. After looking around the site you suggested, I think I'm going to have my cake and eat it to. I'm going to put retro looking speakers in the package tray and kick panels, and use a center front speaker that will fit the dash. As far as the stereo, I want something with a stock look, but possibly XM capable. Any thoughts? Greg

The Custom Autosound units with the auxiliary input can accept a satellite radio unit. The XM Roadie, I don't remember who makes it, has a small FM transmitter in it that you can use instead of the auxiliary input. I would use the auxiliary input. I live in an area between two large cities and its harrd to find and FM frequency that doesn't have a station on it.
Other than that, it sounds like a good setup. My wife's '65 has the kick panels speakers and they make a big difference.
