I just got a 65 coupe with a late model 5.0 engine. The issue is: There is no power steering, so the surpinteen belt is now wrapped the wrong way around the reverse rotation pump. Has anyone put in an Idler pulley in place of the power steering pump so the belt can run the right way around the water pump pulley? I know I can go to "V" belts and but the regular rotation pump on. but was wanting to avoid changing everything over.

Running a a/c delete kit will wok fine. It bolts to the driver side head and is just a dummy pulley it will allow you to run a serp. belt. call-1-800-230-3030 summit racing. the part number is asp-028200. you can view it on the left side of the forum page or at summitracing.com. V belts suck it will look alot nicer and perform better. As for finding a belt buy five different ones and take four back. I do it all the time use some kite string and go through all the pulleys then measure it and run to the parts store the belts are sold in inches.buy two belts bigger than the measured size and two smaller. Hope this helps- Ron
