I own a 1968 GT that is all original and one owner. Recently, I had a tire blow out and took out a chrome mud flap on the driver's rear. I have searched high and low for a replacement, but am unable to find one. Did Ford offer this in the GT package, or is this a dealer install? Any ideas out there?

Sometimes different dealerships threw on aftermarket stuff on their new cars its possible that they were on the car for the last 40 years.

Mud flaps were not part of the GT package, nor were they a factory option for 1965-73 Mustangs. However, I believe they were available through dealerships as an accessory. Most were acquired through local auto stores. Not sure where you can find them today.

Seriously- chrome mud flaps? I can't even think of a pre- SN-95 Mustang with mud flaps, let alone chrome mud flaps. That doesn't really make sense- the mud flaps are going to get dirty, why chrome them? It's like going on a diet- you know you're going to give up in three weeks- why start?
