Hello, I own a 68 Mustang conv.289 auto.with a console however the shifter is for a non-console car.Originally my car might not have had a console. Who Knows!On your car the bulb for the trans.indicator is attached to a 3 inch plastic rod that clips to the shifter to illuminate the console.If you are converting to the floor mount you might want the non-console shifter which has a stationary bulb to illuminate the floor-mount indicator that you can easily buy brand new.I'll make a deal with you if you like as I would like a 68 console. I didn't realize when I bought my car that the console was a 67!which is similar to 68 but not the same.We could swap shifters too.Mine has new bushings.It's an easy conversion.Installing AC sounds like some time
