had a rear sump and changed to front sump. Now the oil dipstick wont go in easily and i get an incorrect reading on it when i check it. Is there a special dipstick or another place on the block I can put the dipstick tube in?

I would buy a early 289/302 timing chain cover off of ebay. That front sump oil pan requires a timing chain cover that has a short dip stick tube on the pass. side. I bought one with the stick a year ago for about 30 bucks off ebay.

I used a cork plug I picked up from home depot and gave it a few taps with a hammer. My friend stuffed a injected 5.0 in his 67 and we swapped out the pan and timing cover. He used jb weld in the block where the stick was.-Ron
