Shifter indicator with AOD swap

I'm thinking of doing an C4-to-AOD swap on my '67 vert.  It has the original console; are there any shifter indicators I can use that will indicate the correct gear (ie one with "OD").  I want to keep the console looking stock, but want to be able to know what gear I'm in.

Thanks!!

To my knowledge no one makes an AOD style indicator for an early Mustang shifter. If you get the AOD swap shifter rod you can keep your stock C4 shifter and indicator dial. The stock AOD valve body doesn't actually allow manual shifting anyway, but for the sake of discussion, when you put your C4 shifter into "D" for normal driving the AOD will be in it's correct "OD" setting and shift normally all the way to 4th gear. Putting your shifter in "1" will hold the AOD in 1st to about 25-30 mph then it will go to 2nd. Putting the shifter in "2" will allow the AOD to shift thru gears 1-2-3 but not go into 4th gear(OD). P-R-N are all the same position on your shifter for the AOD.

Ford Mustang When looking for your next vehicle, think about the Ford Mustang, a stylish car with nice features. The Mustang gets 16 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway, and has drivers side crash test ratings of 5 stars and passengers side crash test ratings of 5 stars. You also might want to research the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln MKS.
