I have replaced old leaf springs with new ones. It seems to me that the rearend sets closer to the front of the car than before, this is really evident when the wheels are put on the car. I have a little room in front of the tire maybe two inches and a lot of room in the rear of the tire. The tire does not set in the middle of the wheel well front to back. What is the problem?

I just did the same on my 67.  Make sure the leaf spring post is placed in the correct slot.  Mine had two slots, one was closer to the front than the other.
