'66 Mustang 6cyl dies, smells gas

My '66 Mustang 6cyl drives well but then dies and when I open the hood I smell gas. I have fixed most electrical, can it be the fuel pump? It runs well most of the time and then dies suddenly. Then there's the smell of gas again. Anybody got any ideas????? Thanks in advance.

check the carb it might be lose,it happend 2 me,on my 66,or a stuck float,
