I am going to be replacing the entire shock towers on a 70 mustang. My question is are there any guides out there that can help me do this correctly. I know that replacement should be done very accurately because the suspension of the car depends on the shock towers. Anybody ever done this before? Anybody give me any advice?

I am looking at the Feb 2009 edition of Mustangs Unlimited which has an article. One question I have is in step 22 it says "All welding is completed once measurements are taken" Does anyone know what measurements they mean????
I wanted to knock this out this weekend.
Happy 4th of July!!

type in " how to replace shock towers on a vintage mustang " on google search and the listing will come up. make sure you have the upper and lower a-arm mounting points directly across from each other. I used a few #8 pan head self tapping tek screws to hold the bottom to the frame untill after welding and the top brace to hold the top. a 65 or 66 Ford mustang shop manual has the measuring points in it and they can be found on e-bay for about $35.00.

Thank you, I had tried googling but left off the vintage piece, I'll knock that out now. Thanks for the tips!
