I am also installing a V8 in a 6 cyl car. Here is what I have done. I used the front spindles from a V8 donor car. The upper and lower control arms are the same and will bolt right up to the new spindles. For safety you may want to replace the ball joints. I went with a V8 disc brake kit from SSBC. You will also need V8 steering linkage, sway bar and springs. I also swapped the rear end out to an 8 inch from the same donor car. The car is now 5 lug so you will need new wheels. Styled steel wheels will look good. For less money you can go with Granada spindles and brakes, but you stiil need the other stuff to do it right.

I am also putting a ford small block 351 into my 6 cylinder 66' mustang coupe. Updating the drive train with a 9-inch from a 76' Lincoln continental and an AOD trans. You guys are right about beefing up the front end for the extra weight. Also a buddy of mine told me he installed the monte carlo bar on his 65' because he had alot of shock tower flex.

Ford Mustang Research
Ford Mustang When looking for your next vehicle, think about the Ford Mustang, a stylish car with nice features. The Mustang gets 18 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway, and has drivers side crash test ratings of 5 stars and passengers side crash test ratings of 5 stars. You also might want to research the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln MKS.
