I have a 67 fastback that came with a fixed rear seat (go figure). I purchased all the parts and have restored them. Now I need to get some details regarding the mounting of the pieces. I can imagine someone did an article on 67-68 upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Blessings, Dave

We ran an article in the June 2006 issue about fold-down rear seats. However, the author, Sam Griffith, has a website that pretty much covers the same information and more. Check it out at www.samsgarage.net.

Thanks,I found that website earlier. I have a few puzzling questions I was hoping you could answer. I have a 67 fastback that came with a fixed rear seat. I found a fold down seat for sale and restored it to mint condition complete with new chrome and carpet. The problem I ran into was that the fold down was apparently an early one so the bumper threaded holes were not present and I had to cut a hole for the other latch. The problem I have now is….. How do I get the sucker installed? I have all the parts but I am not sure of what order and what hardware is required. The section closest to the trunk confuses me because of these metal clips that secure it to the floor. How does it mount? I also had my rear seat upholstered and I need to see how the seat mounts to the metal pieces. I think that is easy because the loops and tabs seem straight forward. What hardware is used to secure the latches and the latch covers? Is there anyway you can help me with the steps, and what hardware is required?

I don't have any experience with a 67 fold-down. You might want to e-mail Sam Griffith at samgarage@aol.com to see if he can help. He's the fold-down expert.
