I recently purchased an 84 Mustang with a 3.8. I replaced the starter solenoid and noticed on the positive cable there were 3 wires with a fusible link, but 2 of the 3 were attached to wires while one was just the connector and no wire in sight. I am curious as to how many wires should be attached to the positive side of the solenoid? Is it possible that the third was for an old stereo system or alarm and is no longer needed?
