Since you can't get a Marti Report giving this information on a 65-66 like you can 67 and up, I don't know of any way to find this out.  I have a 65 and am in the same predicament about research.

Ford didn't start keeping production records until 1967, so specific production figures for 1965-66 Mustangs aren't available. We do know that 5,776 63B fastbacks were built in 1965, but can't break it down any further than that. A search for "Mustang production figures" will get you to sites that have the body style production numbers.

Hi Donald,

May sites listed that the Deluxe Pony Interior was not available until Feb, 65.
They say the same for the GT options.
I have a early '65 Fastback with Blue/White Pony Interior.
My dataplate is 63B for Fastback Pony Int. The Trim is 62  and is Wimbleton White.
The date is 29J which is Sept 29 1964... just 2 months into the true 1965 production. (this is not a 64 1/2)... So, this Feb. 65 is incorrect to be the start date for Pony Interior... Maybe they are wrong for the GT options too?
Any help is appreciated.

Don:  I have a '66 convt., with a paint code of Q7 on the door tag, and the vin # far exceeds the production figures for '66 cars.  It has a Sept. 12th production date, and probable one of the last convt's built in '66.  The Q7 paint code is Brittany Blue, and it has the bench seat option.  I think my car may be rare because of it's color and the Q7 paint code????  But, since records weren't kept for '65-'66 cars, I don't guess we will ever know.  If anyone knows of anyone with this paint code of Q7 for '66 cars, let me know.  Bob Bryant.
