I am rebuilding a 1965 Coupe with a 9 inch rear end. Everything on this car will be new, how ever I am having a HARD time finding the parking brake shoe levers LH and RH. This is the lever that is connected to the parking brake cable that spreads the shoes when the parking brakes are applied. I bought the rear end with no brakes. If anyone knows of a vender that has these items please let me know!! Thanks

Thanks for part # how ever this is not the item I am talking about. The lever that I need is a LH and RH application. Both of these levers (one on each side)is located behind the brake drum. The parking brake cable end attaches to the top of the lever and when the parking brake is pulled the lever makes the brake shoes spread. Keep looking for me Please.

I haven't found a source for the parking brake lever yet but I think I may be on to something, did some research on Ford 10" brakes.   The 1985 LTD Crown Vic uses the same brakes as the 65-66 Mustang, later years use different brakes, checked them out at a parts store and the only difference is the pad width.  The Salvage yards should be a source of 85-91 Crown Vics & Grand marquis.  After 91 it looks like they had rear discs because the rear shoes are not listed.   You should be able to get both the lever/arm and the speaders cheap and in good shape. I'm getting ready to go scrounging this week-end.

NPD does have the spreaders but not the arms.  I did find that the ones from the 85 - 91 Crown Vics and Grand Marquis will work.  Got mine off an 87 Grand Marquis.  Got both the arms and spreaders for $20.

I love it when a project comes together.  I fought looking for parts to change my single bowl brake Master Cylinder to a dual bowl forever.  I finally got them all and she works like a charm.  Sometimes you just to have to be inventive with these old dinosaurs.

You might contact MP Brakes. They sell complete upgrade rear brakes for the Mustang 9 inch which include backing plate, brake shoes, wheel cyl. springs, levers and all.
