 I am not knowledgeable when it comes to a 77.
But to clarify the question for others, you mention a 2.3t. Do you mean turbo? If so; What year is the engine from?  You want to "mate" harnesses. That sounds VERY difficult even with diagrams.  The 2.3 may have had an engine-management module, fuel injection,
any number of things that weren't available in 77.
