The rear turn signals work fine. The front signals and dash indicator light don't work at all. The park lights also work. I've checked grounds, harness plugs. When the headlights are turned on are the park lights supposed to go off?

I just recently purchased a 64 1/2 and it also has the same problem, have you figured it out yet.

Cheers

sounds like wiring or switch problems. get a decent volt and ohm meter, and run the wiring diagram down, to verify the system.  possibly a bad turn signal switch, or maybe a bad connection to the under hood harness. hard to say over the net, but these harnesses get old, and things go nuts.  electrical can be frustrating, expensive, and still not work right.  Make friends with a Auto Tech, or find someone in a local mustang club thats willing to assist if you need guidance.

The parking lights go off when you turn the headlights on.

Since the rear signals work it tells you two things, the flasher input circuit is good and the TS switch is receiving that voltage. Review of a wiring diagram shows that the dash and front signals are connected in parallel to each other. The culprit is most likely the TS switch in the sterering column. If you look in the sidebars you'll see an article on how to change it.

Go to http://midlife66.com/wiring/66exter1.jpg
get an ohm meter connect it to wire 2 and 44 (under the dash directly out of the steering column).  put turn signal to the right position, if the ohm meter goes to 0 ur turn signal is fine, but if not try the left position just in case ( i forgot which one is which) do the same thing for wire 3 and 44. if either position makes your ohm meter turn to 0 your turn signal switch is fine. Next i'd look at connections to the lamps up front, make sure they're getting voltage. then check the blubs if they're not fused, then check to make sure the fixture is good a lot of times they become old and rusted not allowing current to pass through
