I have an opportunity to buy a 1967 Mustang GTA 390 Big Block Coupe.  The seller said they only made 72 GTA 390 "coupes" in 1967, and that there are only 60 something registered in the entire world supposedly.  I found that hard to believe.  THe car needs restoration which i am happy about, what is a car like this restored to its original state worth?  Thanks,

Wow only 72, huh?  I guess I've seen most of them then (LOL).  Just kidding,  According to my Marti book (Mustang... by the numbers 1967-1973)there were 4403 1967 Coupes built with 390 and auto.  This includes all coupes not just GTA's.  There were over 29,000 total built S-code 1967 Mustangs in all body styles.

It's possible the GTA you looked at had some unique set of options like paint/trim codes that made it a low production car but the 390-4V option itself was not.

Bill, thanks so much for your input, i thought it sounded really crazy.  The unique set of options like paint/trim codes are not a big deal to me.  Thanks again!

I was very interested in your question as I have recently purchased a 67 "S" code 390 coup with a bench seat.  If they only made 4403 390 "S" code coups and only 8,000 or so bench mustangs, I wonder how many '67 390/bench coupes were made.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Any idea on value?
Thanks all.
