Have 65 T code 200. Tranmission is a HEF CW 3.03 which I believe is a syncro 3 speed. I think this is a 66 trans and I am wondering if the Bellhousing could be used for a T5 Swap on the 200. Thx

I should add. I believe the HEF CW is a 3 speed for a 289 which makes me wonder if the Bellhousing is from the 289 and might work in a T5 for the 200.

Ford made the changeover to a wide bellhousing in 65 and used it across the line. So there is a good possibility that it will fit, you could still have an early model that won't however. If it has the small block 6 bolt pattern ,,, your in. If its a five bolt bellhousing to engine pattern you're stuck. However as with the V8 you have to address the difference in input shaft length which might mean you have to use a spacer. Also that would mean with the T-5 you have to shorten your driveshaft a little because it is about an inch longer. Maybe its just me, but before I did that much work on a 200 six I would look at swapping in a 250 or a 300. I know you might want to keep it stock looking and the t-5 doesnt show and the shifter will come up in the same hole,,,so its not too hard a transplant. Good luck

Many thanks for the info. This is my first project car so I appreciate the help. I may keep the 200, if it runs only to try and save some $$. This is a Rustang convertible and I have already replaced the full floor, rockers, torque boxes, both doors, fenders and quarters. So I am in deep at this point. Once I get this car back on it's feet, I need to check out the engine, etc. And that's all before I get to the 4 lug wheels and rear. Thanks again
