Hi all,
I am attempting to find a nice 1970 Mustang Convertible to purchase. My efforts have turned up few choices so I have been thinking of other ways to locate a suitable car.
I have been frequenting all of the best sites I can find for ads, but the pickings are slim and many that are listed have already been sold. My next step was to reach out to car owners I found in various forums to see if they are interested in selling their car. This added about 4 or 5 cars to the mix.
That leads me to my first question for you. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a list of registered owners of '70 convertibles? I am willing to invest the time and effort to reach out to them, but I need a list to start with. Any thoughts?
Lastly, if you can come up with any other ideas I can try, I would appreciate your input.
Regards,
Don

Easy!!! Just type collector cars for sale in your search engine. There's a lot of places to look, all over the country. OR, you can type 1970 Ford Mustang convertible for sale in your search engine--lots there too. Hope that helps. Jay67fast

Thanks, your car looks very nice in those photos. Do you perhaps have some photos that show the interior and the engine compartment? Can you tell some more about the car? How long have you had it? What work has been done? What do you think still needs to be done? Engine? Transmission? etc...
Have you given any thought to what your asking price might be? Are you confident that the car is rust free?
Sorry for all the questions, but they are only because I am interested. Thanks!
Don

Jay67fast,
Yes it is easy. Unfortunately most of the cars that I come across when searching in that fashion have already been sold. I found a dozen or so cars to pursue doing a simple search, and I ended up with none that were actually available. That is why I started pursuing this route. Thanks for your suggestion!

Hi Don
I have owned my car for about 5 years. It is not rust free. It does have rust on the underbody and frame rails.
It was repainted by a previous owner. Since I have owned it, I have put in all new suspension components, disc brake conversion, front and rear brakes completly rebuilt, new bumpers, tailights bezels, Foose wheels.
The engine is a 302 with an edelbrock 4 barrel carb. The timing chain, water pump, oil pan, battery all replaced this spring.
The transmission clunks going into reverse, but shifts through gears fine. I can add some interior and engine photos.
