I have a CD stuck in my 94' Cobra and would like to remove the entire unit. The Service Manual references a tool to use but I have no idea what it looks like or what can be used as a substitute. Can anyone help with recommendations to remove the unit and get the CD out?ThanksRoger

The tool is available at any parts store. It is a round metal u shaped rod. Might be able to use coat hanger. It goes in the two holes on each side of the unit in the trim area. Hope this helps.

If you want to replace it just take it to your local audio store and have them swap it out for you if you're buying a new stereo. The tech may know of a way to remove the stuck CD, or take it to a Ford dealership and they may be able to help. This happened to me on my 96 F150 when it was new and the dealership swapped out the stereo because it was still under warranty. I don't know how they got my stuck cassette tape out but I did get it back.
