Can any one tell me where the knock sensor is located on the 3.8 I bought it and now I can not locate it on the engine. I have had some knocking and changed the plugs that looked real bad and it is doing better. Now I want to change the sencor and can not find it. I have even bought the manual.

The knock sensors I have dealt with are usually at the rear side of the intake manifold, typically left of center.

Thank you I will look today. Did you notice a change when change? I have some serious pinging. When engine is hot. I am afraid I am going to mess something up.

Knock sensors rarely go bad. It's typically a loose installation or too much carbon in the combustion chambers. (in the old days we slowly leaked a coke bottle of water into the carb to steam the carbon off-I don't know if you can do that with todays, EFI cars or not, I suspect not)

there is no knock sensor on the 3.8 ltr Mustang so you can quit looking. Fuel filter and maybe some seafoam fuel additive might help.
