morning all - I am new to the mustang forums but i must say after the last few weeks researching looking at cars to rent I cant help but feel whilst enjoying our American dream road trip the mustang is the way forward.

we have been offered anything from a chrysler to toyota solaris convertible...thoughts?

our trip includes LA - SAN fran  - Yosemite - Vegas - LA over a couple of weeks in late September

Can anyone recommend any rentals in LA or indeed whether its worth upgrading to a GT or alike - money is limited but the dream lives on.

we have been quoted around $1000 for a couple of weeks  for a standard mustang (no year mentioned).... should we upgrade to a GT or see if they have a specific years model - i fear a shelby would be out of the question
