What kind and size wiper blade refills work best on a 66 mustang and where can you get them?  Most I see have the clips which I don't think are needed.  Don't the ends hold the blades in place?

Since I want to keep my original chrome wiper blades, I just buy the 15" rubber inserts.  I believe the last time I bought some was at Wal-Mart's. You can probably find them at most auto supply places too.

Since mine were all hacked-up, I bought repos from NPD  15" TRICO (9.95 ea)

Yep, the Mustang parts house advertises a 15" refill, but that URL doesn't lead you there.  Here is probably a better URL that says they have them.  If, after typing in the URL and trying to search for it and it doesn't hook you up, then just google 15" Mustang wiper refills.
