I am picking out a new performance exhaust system for my 1965 Coupe. I am looking at the Hooker Full Length Super Comp. Headers and Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers. I was wondering if this was a good setup, and if not, what is a good setup. I am looking for a very deep and throaty sound with a good volume to it. Also, are there any H-pipe kits that don't come with a muffler and are made for headers? I have looked around and all I could find were kits that came with a muffler or were made for the stock manifolds.

You really need to tell us why you are considering this muffler/exhaust system. Is it just noise you want, or is it performance as well? If it is just noise, then go ahead with your plans. If it is performance, then you will need to have deep pockets.

The main reason I am getting the system is that it doesn't seem to be breathing right, like the manifolds are restricting it to much, and I would like it a little louder than the stock system. Performance isn't going to be a big deal for me until later because it is my everyday driver right now.
