I have pretty much somewhat completed my 68 Mustang restomod, went to the store and locked the drivers door. Was not able to unlock, so I thought open up the door panel and some adjustments could be made.... Wrong. I reached in the door panel, removed both door lock actuator rods to see if the travel was limited. Inside Door handle appears to function normally. Has this happened to anyone else? I am very unhappy to have to go in through the passenger side to drive.
Thank you.

Use a can of WD-40 with the red plastic tube. Put the end of the tube in the lock and spray hell out of it. Then put your key in and work it back and forth. Take it easy at first. You don't want to break off your key. She needs some attention bro.

Thank you for your replies, I have disconnected the rod that goes from the door lock to the latch that connects to the door post. Even if I move it to full unlock from inside the door, it still will not release.

Got your message the first post. If you can't find any lost motion in the key input rod, It's time to replace the latch.

I figured it out... The door handle was not releasing, it was bent. This caused the door to not unlock. No new door post lock (latch) was needed. It works now.
