I own a '70 mach 1, I got a marti report, it says my mustang came with optional argent styled steel wheels. I have been told these are the alloy look wheel covers, 12 slots with dress ring and hub cap, or a standard wheel with dress ring and hub cap. But when I purchased the car from the Australian importer he told me that the 14in argent coloured wheel with the blacked out centres, crome wheel nuts and horse emblem cap in the middle (magnum 500s). When the Australian importer purcased the car from the American seller, the Amnerican seller told the Australian importer that these wheels came with this car from the factory. I have bought the mustang restoration guide, the 1970 factory manual pack, been to the all ford day and countless shows. I have talked to many people in the last 12-14 months and nearly as many people I talk to, give different answers. I thought magnum 500s only came on the boss cars... Can you help. Thank you

The exterior of the Boss 302 featured a front spoiler and flared fenders to accomodate the standard F60 tires which were mounted on 15" Magnum 500 wheels in '69 and standard 15" steel wheels with flat hubcaps in 1970. The Magnum 500's were optional on the '70 models. So, yes....the Magnum 500's were only offered for the Boss's. Even the Boss 429 had Mag 500's.
