I dropped a late model 302 (block & Heads) into my 73 and the only thing standing between me and the road is aligning the pulleys.
The PS pulley is good with the crank, but the alt is far short of the water pump pulley. 3 different ALT brackets and 3 different pulleys and NO DICE! If I go for a deeper pulley it will hit the bolts on the ALT bracket.
At this point I'm stumped big time. Anyone come across this before?

Well there are a lot of combinations but what you should have used is the front timing chain cover that goes with the crank pulley and alternator combination that you had. Ford made several different(at least 4) timing chain covers and you must use the water pump to correspond with the cover. They have different depths. Also make sure your using the proper balanced flywheel and harmonic balancer as the late model uses a 50 oz imbalance vice the 28 oz on the earlier model. Ron Morris Performance has a lot of info on the swap and a lot of parts and tech info.
