I have a 65 2+2 manufactured in San Jose CA in November of 65. It has fabric inserts in the front seats? Has any one else seen these in another car. I read in an article in the MM magazine a few years ago (maybe 15) that these were put in late 65 cars made in the SJ and Phoenix factories. Any idea on the number of cars, which models or what colors? Mine are Red. Anyone know if the fabric is available? The seats are in great shape considering their age, but I would like to restore them to pristine condition in the future.

Not real sure why a 2+2 would have cloth inserts. The cloth inserts were available in the pre-August 1964 Mustangs, but not afterwards in the 1965 models. Maybe somebody put in the 64 seats later. Here, read this. http://www.shnack.com/document.php?pid=31

November 65 is getting late in the 65 run to have cloth. Granted in a lot of early cars they used up the 64 parts. My Sept 64 2+2 has tons of "64" stuff on it. however mine is just a little over a month after the chance over.
Check you door data plate. Code 76 is black cloth and 79 is palamino. 26 is black and 29 palamino both vinyl. FYI those are the only two colors in cloth. As a November car you would not have poney/delux interior as it was not avaible yet.
