Aftermarket 66 14 inch five spoke wheel covers are about $50 each.  Mine are in decent shape so rather than buy new ones I decided to restore them.  I've polished them back to health but, I need to know what paint (Eastwood or other) to use for the silver and charcoal sections.  Has anyone done this?  I've looked through M&M but haven't found anything that identifies the paints.

DFarr - do you know?

Eastwood has a Silver/Argent and Charcoal Rally wheel paint.  Are these the colors?

I was going to use the argent color when I did mine. I'll watch the post to see what you come up with though.

Apparently no one has any idea on my question. I was hoping D Farr could answer it but, he must be on vacation.  Have a great Holiday everyone!

Scott ,
In MM there's a column by a concours judge (resto roundup)that talks about these kinds of things. Perhaps you could email him directly.

jlg2002  -  So the only answer I've received yet is take the wheel cover into the paint shop and have them match it. Some places can put it in an aerosol can but others can't. I think I'll try the argent silver and charcoal Rally colors from Eastwood first.

Sorry for the delayed response. Yep, vacation, then playing catch-up. I've never restored a set of 66 wheelcovers, although my 66 GT's covers are going to need it soon.

Hay dfarr - As far as going to a paint shop to get the colors matched, it wont do a lot of good 1st because the colors (silver & charcoal) are faded and 2nd I've had them match colors before and some are not that close. I was hoping that there might be some info in that vast crusty old Mustang restoration vault that you work in. If you come across anything on it in the coming months please pass it on. Thanks!
