Hello All

Great site!! first time poster here.

I have just finished putting a wiring harness on my 66 200" six coupe project & trying to fire for the first time & am having  starter problems.

Original was not working so I got a rebuilt Remy unit from RockAuto (I buy a lot of parts for my ford trucks from them)

New unit did not operate, they sent me a new one which worked a couple of times but then stopped. Took it out and it will not turn when wired direct to battery.

Anyone have experience with bad replacements or is there something elese I should be looking at?

Thanks

Try just going to Checker/Auto Zone/Pepboys for one. I've never had a problem form them.

No, if you can apply direct battery voltage to a ford starter and it doesn't spin, It's bad.(provided you have a clean ground and a good battery)
