So I got my mustang out of the shop--I had it put in since I was going to be out of town before I sold it and wouldn't have time to finish the job I had started.
When I got it back from the shop and pulled out of the parking lot (I picked it up after hours, I was coming back from a funeral a few states away), I noticed the instrument panel wasn't fully functional. The lights and fuel gauge worked, but the speedometer and engine temp gauges were down. Any thoughts?

what job were they doing? It could be as simple as loose wires. Either on the gauge side, or the sensor/ tranny side!

+1 with lethal. what does "they're down" mean, exactly? (not lighting, not functional, erratic...)
