I have a'69 coupe with a factory 351w-4v and fmx. I would like to convert to efi, preferably factory and eventually an AOD. I know I can use a 5.0 HO unit(same firing order)but would have to change manifold bottom and possibly injector size. Ford trucks had an efi 5.8 available from '88-'97. The trucks also had an aod from '87-'92(then aod-e). If I get everything(efi, distributor, computer, wiring, sensors, etc) from an '88-'92 truck with aod would it work? I know I have to change the fuel system to high pressure with return.
Thanks
Rick

Sounds like you have a handle on it grandekid. Its not a particularly easy swap though, lots of wiring and a painless(or http://www.autoworksracing.com/ford_4.htm) or other harness can make it easier, although a donor makes it cheaper. Ford Muscle had an article on it not too long ago at http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2006/02/EFIConversion/index.php
I think if I was gonna do it I would go with a mod motor myself,,,more power, and you have the room between the towers I believe. My 65 would need the shock towers removed.  See http://www.thedetailzone.com/Ford%204.6%20&%205.4%20EFI.htm

Ford Mustang Research
Ford Mustang When looking for your next vehicle, think about the Ford Mustang, a stylish car with nice features. The Mustang gets 16 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway, and has drivers side crash test ratings of 5 stars and passengers side crash test ratings of 5 stars. You also might want to research the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln MKS.
