Were the hood scoops on GT-350's bolt on or bonded on?
I'm going to add 1 to my steel hood and just want it to look correct. My feeling is that the mating of a fibreglass scoop to a steel hood would be better accomplished with a bolt on scoop.
Thanks for the help.

Chris, the whole hood was replaced with a lighter fiberglass one on the GT350s. I think the cars were sent to Shelby in California without hoods.

Hi,
Thanks for the info.
I do know that the originals were fitted with fiberglass hoods but the cost of a GT-350 hood is $500+ with shipping vs $120 or so for the scoop. Much easier on the pocket book. Since I'm not doing a concours restoration, I'm not too worried abouit it.
Were the original scoops molded right into the hood or were they bolted to the hood after.
Thanks,
Chris

i was under the belief they were molded as one piece, not two put together. Completely fiberglass is different the molding fiberglass to steel. Have you thought of a steel scoop, and welding it on?

Thanks again guys.
I wasn't aware that a GT-350 scoop was available in steel. Do you know where to get it?
