Here is a bit of usefull info about air bags for mustangs.
94-98 All airbags are the same on the base model and GT. The only difference is the plug on the passenger which you might have to splice the wire and interchange.
94-98 Cobra's use are the same airbags as the base and the GT. The only difference is the steering wheel has the word cobra embossed on it and the base and GT has the pony embossed on the cover.
All 94 to 98 airbag computer modules must be repaired or replaced when the airbags blow. They can't be reset with a simple scantool.
99-04 All airbags are the same on the base model and GT. The only difference is the plug on the passenger which you might have to splice the wire and interchange.

All 99-04 mustang airbag computers can be reset with a scantool and do not need to be replaced.
