I got an 05 gt and want to start workin on it. I'm plannin on starting with exhaust and want to see what would sound the best. I was thinking either an offroad x pipe or h pipe and maybe a pair of slp deletes, thats just what a friend told me he thought though. I dont really want it to pop or backfire though if you know what i mean but i was hopin to make it pretty loud and throaty. Any advice would be great.

Just remember that if it's loud outside its loud inside too. After a while your brain starts hurting from all the noise. Pick carefully.

Ford spent a lot of time and money to get the "right" sound for their GT, and got alot of advice from the Mustang gearheads like us. Mostly,Mustangers like the factory sound. Actually a lot of Chevy guys like the sound too. Just food for thought.
I ran into a guy driving an 03 GT that sounded similar to stock GT, but growled more and was about 20% louder. Since I was going to replace a 67 exhaust, I asked him what mufflers he was using...NO mufflers, just the cats and a patch pipe where each muffler was removed. A nasty sounding 03!

Consider this, my son added a big tube cat back system without increasing anything on the intake side of the combustion chamber and torque fell on its face. The whole package needs to compliment each other, throttle body, cam, heads.
