Hello,
I just ran across this site and I remember subscribing to this magazine years ago. I think I might take it up again. Just out of curiosity I was wondering what is the lowest mileage 1986 GT that anybody has seen? I just read a December '03 article on Daniel Carpenter's '86 GT "Time Capsule". I still own the first brand new car I ever bought. In January 1986 I ordered a new Mustang GT from my local Ford dealer. I specified a five speed stick, 3.08 axle, sunroof [NOT T-Tops], air conditioning, power windows, tinted glass, and an AM/FM cassette radio. I was actually driving by the dealer when it was being unloaded from the car carrier. By the way, it took five long months to take delivery. They were a very hot car at the time! Now twenty three years later [hard to believe!], the car has NEVER been driven in the rain or snow, has always been garaged and at this point has 8,100 miles on it. Everything is factory original except the battery and all fluids, which are changed annually. The car is black with a grey/red-piping interior that believe it or not, still has some of that new car smell when you open the door. I've never shown the car but I might when I finish my current project, an all stock 1926 Ford Model T roadster [Black, naturally]. I think people might enjoy seeing these two cars side by side that span sixty years of progress.

I have a 86gt with only 6 thousand miles . 100% no mods 100% original tires , plugs wires , new car smell . The only time it was driven  in the rain was oct 2, 1986. the day my friend took it home from dunne ford in providence R.I. he put on 5 thousand miles and I have put on 1 thousand . I think I might like to sell it since I have a 86gt conv that I can drive without any cares.
