My 68 mustang turn signals don't properly cancel upon completing a turn. All the lights work properly. I have replaced the turn signal cam on the steering column. The cam on the turn signal switch has also been replaced. The switch seems to work fine. Often upon completing a right hand turn the right signal turns off and the left turns on. That is the turn lever goes beyond the center position--to the left position. Any thoughts. joe

I have seen this before but in a turn signal assembly that is worn. Did you repair the entire assembly(wires and cam and stalk) or did you just put in a cam. The fix is to repair with a new entire assembly and make sure your steering wheel is indexed correctly at straight forward the pin should be between the two posts.

Thanks for input. I only replaced the cam (sitting on top of the switch housing). Not sure what the stalk is. Also will check the indexing of steering wheel. I marked it before removing and replaced the same way. Do not remember a "pin" between posts. This is a tilt steering wheel and as such has a turn signal cancellation cam on the column which is indexed. I replaced this cam and indexed it properly. There are springs on either side and underneath the turn signal switch which I wonder if the could be weak. I have not seen where I might find replacements for them joe

You really need to replace the entire turn signal assembly. They sell both parts. Sometimes just the cam on top gets broken and thats what you apparently replaced. When you take out the entire assembly you take all the springs and wires out of the steering wheel and replace the wiring all the way back to the connector below the dash. Its really not a tough job. After four or five of these I can do it in about 20 minutes. Look up some other posts on here and you will see how to get the pins out of the socket and pull the entire assembly out. There is also a MM article on how to do it.

So who supposedly sells this TS switch for a " 68 tilt column" ? C8ZZ-13341-B
I have been looking for a replacement for 10 years and it has been obsolete for 20.
I almost got one for $135.00 USD but that was too rich from my blood.

I've noticed my 66 do the same thing occasionally if I let the wheel spin quickly back to center after the turn. It doesn't always do it, only if it returns quickly. The switch was replaced 15 years or so ago but did this even when it was new. Works correctly if released slowly. Strange.

I dont know Million , does the tilt column have a different assembly in the steering wheel or is just wired differently to facilitate the tilt? Maybe you can use the standard one and splice it in. I didnt realize it was different then the standard one. The tilt is so rare.

Yes they are different ...although yesterday I found a reference to a 69 T-Bird TS as a replacement or service number so they may be the same.

Hi guys! Hey Mil1ion, what's different about the TS switch on a non-tilt column as apposed to the tilt column? It doesn't have anything to do with the tilt control right? Isn't that controlled be a mechanical vacuum switch?

The most visible difference is how the TS cam is mounted to the switch asembly.
On the tilt it is attached with a screw.
This is the switch in question.

The NON-tilt is attached with a rivet.
shown here
Below is the TS switch for a ford truck but, the design is the same for cars

I know this is the Vintage Mustang Blog, but it addresses the same issue I have with my '06, so I was hoping someone may know what to do! I need to do the exact same thing (replace entire turn signal AND windshield wiper assemblies)to my 06 mustang where they connect into the steering wheel. I see u mentioned "they" sell both parts, and that there is a MM article on how to do it. Where can I get the parts(or part #'s) and find the article u mentioned on how to do it? Thank you so much..............I hope someone can help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anne----Since your car is fairly new you should be able to get the parts you need from your local Ford dealer in the parts department. They can help you with the part numbers too. It might even still be under warranty. Check with the Ford dealer's service writer to be sure before you go ahead and buy parts.

Thanks, I will give that a try at the dealer..........just hope they don't screw me on the price, as dealerships usually do in case it isn't under warranty!

Anne....I know what you mean about dealer parts pricing. You might get the part numbers @ Ford dealer and then call around to big brand auto parts stores like Carquest, etc. first for availability and comparison beforehand. It may be a Ford only part since the car is still fairly new. Good luck.
