Junk coming out of air cond vents.

I've got some really nasty stuff coming out of the air conditioner vents.
It's kind of little pieces of yucky brown foamy stuff.
Is there some cabin air filter that might be causing that?
Or anybody got any ideas?

I have the same thing and the Ford Service Dept. told me it was the foam insulation in the Heater & A/C unit that was starting to deteriorate. Estimates to repair were over $500 due to having to take apart the dash to get to everything.
