I own a 2003 GT with a standard transmition, and when I am driving at almost any speed and down-shift into second gear it will "pop" out of gear and I have to engage the clutch and put it back into gear. Then it runs fine. Can anybody tell what my problem might be? I'm begining to think that my clutch might be bad. If it is my clutch then why does it only do it when going into second gear? Is this a common problem?

You need to check your shifter for wear, if no wear is evident, its in the trans (fork or associated syncro ring) .  A bad clutch doesn't cause the trans to slip out of gear.

You also might want to research the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln MKS.
