I have a ralley-pac for my '65 v8 coupe. I attempted to install it and I destroyed my  pertronix ignition module. The tach has 3 wires, a red, a black, and a short wire I believe is for the light. Can someone instruct me in the proper hook-up? (please keep it simple) thanks

Are you using a pertonix coil too? If so, you need to use a new lead wire from your ignition to the positive side of the coil to bypass the the original pink resistor wire that came with the Mustang from the factory. Maybe there was just too much resitance for the Pertonix module/coil with the tach and that pink resistor combined. Get a 1965 wiring diagram and work with the Pertronix tech line folks to be sure you get it all working together or go back to a standard coil.

Basically the clock light wire (blue/black)is powered by the blue/black courtesy light wire receptacle which is always hot in order to run the clock 24/7. The small black clock wire goes to ground. The blue/red wires power the tach and clock lights and can be plugged into any blue/red wire lighting receptacle under the dash or the same one used for the radio light.
The RED lead from the tach goes to the red/green wire from the ignition switch and the BLACK tach lead goes into the pink resistor ignition wire connection ... which may or may not be used now depending on what Pertonix says and which coil you decide to run with.
