Hello, Now here this Today I was looking at a Ball joint on the Passneger Front and noticed little rocks and dirt Just below the top Arm on a shelf..........I proceed to clean when I come to find a Hole about 2" x 1" there Is this the frame rail rotting away and can this be Fix or Should I just put the car up for sale before it falls Off... ............Help Help...... This after I have invested 8000.00 with motor fron tend rebuild and disc brakes ..........

This can be fixed as all the replacement metal is available. It will take cleaning and possibly some removal of paint to figure out if that is all the rot there is. You can have a local shop do it for you or if you have the guts and equipment, by yourself. No one can give you a reliable estimate until they see it but, it could run $200 (self) to $800 (shop). DON"T sell after putting that much into it so far.

It's hard to say what it is without seeing a photo of the damage. I agree with scott, all the metal parts are available but it could be a complex repair if its where I think it is but if the surrounding metal is not too bad just a patch may be in order. You need to remove that A Arm and spring so you can get a good look. jlg

Thank s for the advise I really do not want to seel her she's my Baby lots of time and work I have put into it and Yes I would do it myself, just firgures the frame rail was trashed.......I am thinking it just might be the shock tower that is rotted out at the bottom on the frame rail instead........Yes remove the motor again and theh repair the damn thing correctly......

Howdy there, I had the same rot there, I welded a piece of heavy steel of similar
shape to the backside, (engine side ) with a wire welder. so far so good.
