Okay so I am working on a plan to lower my 73 with new tires and rims.  The car is a restomod 73 sport roof 460 Linc. Mark IV w/C6.  Does anyone have some good website or info on this type of project?  My buddy and I have a full shop with a lift etc, He is a Chevy guy so can't help with the plan much and he says I need to ask the Ford crew to get a good plan.

Questions I have are really more about the front springs.  Do most guys cut the old springs or buy shorter springs? Can I do this job on the cheap and chop the springs? Do I need different shocks for this project? I want to tuck the wheels under the finder about a half inch or less.  What size rims and low profile tires vs. spring height or combos can I use? Thanks in advance for your comments.

I'm not sure what look you want, but 1" shorter springs are pretty available out there-Laurel Mountain Mustang for one.  I 'm not sure what range of spring rates they offer though. If you're doing this much work, you need to do it right and at least get some new heavier shocks and spend as your budget allows.  There's a lot of weight on your front end and you need to control that-both for safety as well as having a good ride.  You could simply install the same type shocks/springs as the '71 429 had, as the 460 is the same engine essentially. Watch yourself when removing springs.
