I have a 72 mustang and the jack is missing which I was told is also used to hold the spare tire in position. Are the jack and spare set up the same for the older mustangs? Does anyone know where I could find a replacement so that my spare tire isn't sliding around causing all kinds of havoc in my trunk?

According to my parts guidebook, the 69-73 share the same installation. NPD and California Mustang show jacks in their catalogs under PN 10780.

thanks for the reply, I looked and they only seem to sell scissor jacks, I was hoping to find one of the original style jacks.

They sell scissor jacks because that's what came with the car.

Oh, sorry, I was told by the gentlemen at the local ford dealership that according to their microfiche it originally came with a ratchet jack.
