1966 mustang paint code Q7

WOW!!!  OF ALL THE MUSTANGERS THAT HAVE VIEWED THIS POST, NO ONE KNOWS FO THIS PAINT CODE, Q7.  I can't find anyone who knows anything of the Q7 paint code used on the '66 mustang.  If you have a '66 mustang with this paint code, or know of anyone who does, let me know.  I hope I don't have the only one!!!!  Mine is a convt., with a bench seat.  You can send me an e-mail if you wish at rlbghbceredo@zoominternet.net.  BB  

I ran it on the Mustang Dataplate Decoder and without
knowing the additional info I had to use mine. Her is what is says for the color and it must of came on a '67 since it is in ()...Brittany Blue Metallic ('67 Color)  

I also have a 66 mustang with paint code Q7. Mine is a coupe with the factory 289, automatic trans, power steering and a/c.  All I know about the paint code is that it is Britney Blue Metalic and it is a 67 color made available late in 66, but for the life of me I cant find out how many 66's were painted Britney Blue.  I think there are probably alot 67's in Britney Blue.  hotrod83_99@yahoo.com

It's not on the 66 color chart, so it's a custom color. Was your car a late 66 (build date please)?  

Your paint code is not uncommon.  It's a "pull ahead" paint code from 1967.  Your car was built late in the model year, and it could be ordered with a 67 color.  I have a 66 coupe that had paint code Y7, which was Dark Moss Green Metallic, not Ivy Green as in 1966.  From what I've seen on pull ahead paint codes, the fact that it is a 2 digit code (at least in the 66 model year) means it is a pull ahead code.  Your Q7 paint code is Brittany Blue, PPG#12843.

Build date on my 66 with the Q7 paint code is July 30.  Wish I could find out how many 66's were painted this color. I know its common for the 67 year.  

That could be the reasion for the colour there, being that you are at the very end of the production run for the 66, as the 67's come out mid August, and not sure how much down time they needed for re tooling between the two years too,,  

Good Evening Sir , I indeed have a1966 Mustang Coupe  with Q7 CODE, Brittany Blue . I am told no such color for 1966 however the ID is Q7 and it is blue .I found you looking for info on Q7. have just today started to restore it, great fun .I am in Queensland, Australia.
