I want to put my battery in the trunk.  Any tricks or paths on protecting
the cable on its way forward ? Would it be good to have it end in a terminal block
of some kind for accesories ?

Welcome to the forum Rex. I haven't personally done this modifaction, but it's pretty straight forward. I agree with your comment about a terminal block. Make sure you get one with high current flow characteristics. Also the wiring to the front of the car from the trunk needs to be increased in size to make up for the length of the run  due to voltage drops.  I'd try to google for more information also regarding the wire run (external or internal of the car).  My preference is internal but that means you need to drill a hole in the firewall somewhere. jlg

You also might want to research the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln MKS.
